Do any StealthSonic shop vacs have a blower port?

Excellent unit. It's not actually quiet but not annoying and pretty amazing for a cheap shop vac. Plenty of power.

Anyone know the difference between the plastic and stainless steel versions? Costco has 8 gallon 4hp unit for the same price. https://www.costco.com/p/-/dewalt...4000399687

I wondered the same thing and read several Reddit posts. Basically concluded that for this series, the main difference is the steel rusts easily if you have a humid shop or use it as a wetvac. For a very few people, they might need steel to set up additional electrostatic dissipation, but I haven't heard anyone mention that with respect to this series. At the same price point, I would choose the higher hp.

I have this one and it does not have a blower port. It is a great machine and is amazingly quiet. Possibly quieter than my regular upright shark carpet vac.

Thanks for this, I'll stay away if rust is an issue!

From what I've found so far, the HP is not an indicator of performance for shop vacs. It even says it in the product description:

Quote :
**Peak Horsepower" (PHP) is a term used in the wet/dry vacuum industry for consumer comparison purposes. It does not denote the operational horsepower of a wet/dry vacuum but rather the horsepower output of a motor, including the motor's inertial contribution, achieved in laboratory testing. In actual use, motors do not operate at the peak horsepower shown.
The key factors to look for would be CFM for debris and Sealed Pressure for liquids. Overall design can contribute to both factors even at lower HP. For this machine they are at 90 and 70 respectively, which are at mid-range for a vac of this size. I guess the big draw here is the reduction in decibels which seems achievable with a sound diffuser on the blower port on more powerful vacuums. Basically, one of the reasons this machine seems to be quieter is the lack of blower port.

Isn't $99 regular price?

Nevermind, for some reason the page wasn't showing the sale price in green. opening in a different browser displays the "you save $40"

I have the 12 gallon, much quieter than my previous 15 year old Shop Vac. Although the internal dust bag get blown off frequently, there isn't a good retainment system to keep it connected.

I had this , i think it's on sale frequently at $89, the 12 gal does not take much more space than this 9gal, it's much more quiet than a household vacuum, suction is strong

I believe the stainless one is for vacuuming ash from fireplaces or grills.

I thought I was spending a little much when i first purchased this a year ago, but it is SO NICE to be able to vacuum without putting in freakin earplugs. I can hold a conversation at normal volume while vacuuming with this thing. Plenty of power, too. Wish the vacuum hose was a bit longer, which I think you do get with bigger model of this vacuum. I think it's like 9ft vs 15ft.

I would not advise slurping your sausage with any kind of vacuum hose.
