500 sq ft, not 2500 sq ft

The inflated 2500 sq ft is a specification that is for marketing purposes. You want 5 air changes per hour (or as close to 5 as possible)

a medium room is generally considered to be 300-400sq ft as long as the ceilings are not vaulted. So this would be good for a medium/large room.
At 500sq ft or less the ACH of 5(air changes per hour) is good
It claims to have a CADR of 247CFM/420 m³/h though it does not specify whether that is for dust, pollen or smoke which is a bit concerning (there should be 3 different values, not 1)
Not AHAM verified (independent lab tested to prove it does what it claims)

For the price it should be a decent unit. I myself prefer to stick with name brands, Winix, Coway, BlueAir

I purchased this a few days ago and tested it today. It had a buzz / hissing noise that is significantly louder than the fan itself in sleep mode or the lowest speed. It was mostly drowned out at medium speed and beyond, but I found the higher-pitched frequency of it audible even from the other side of the kitchen with the fridge humming, completely defeating the purpose of a unit that's advertised to be quiet at lower speeds. Having no way of telling whether this was expected of the AP401 or was a defect, I chose to return it. Hope other buyers have better luck...

I bought the Loes one also. I have a Rancher. Upstairs not open concept, about 1000 square feet including 2 br, hall, bath, hall, dining to the right and your in the living room or you can cut through the small dining to the kitchen. I would not even know where to put one.

1000 sq. ft. In unfinished basement. Should be easy to come up with something. I got the one from Lowes for that massive cut in price. Being as I was just discharged from 9 nights in the hospital after having pnuemonia because I aspirated something, I want something that makes the air in my house clean, dust , free, germ free, etc. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. 🙏
