Tool manufacturers really getting out of pocket thinking $115 retail for 3 pliers is reasonable. One of the most common and researched tools in the trade.

Don't fall for the high price lure of quality. If you pay $100 vs $50 for the same tool set, that doesn't mean it's twice as durable. Companies have seen what Milwaukee charges and want a piece of that pie. They don't realize Milwaukee has a deep rooted mass of brand junkies.

If your job is to use these tools every single day, then yeah get these. They are durable for sure. If you're a homeowner who tinkers here and there, you should not get this unless you really want to have dollars sunk into a tool you won't use to it's potential

Yes, i agree with this. This is a daily driver type pliers. The price reflects the quality though, and these are hands down the best pair of pliers I've ever used. Grips when others slip, but of course over time they'll wear out like the rest. Depends how you use them. If you have the money and appreciate top quality, get them, but otherwise the Milwaukee pliers have gotten me by for years too.

The additional marginal cost for Knipex is outweighed by the marginal benefit they deliver.
These are pass down to your kids and then to their kids kinda pliers if you are a homeowner. If you're in the trades they're worth it because they are going to make your life much easier.

As an electrician that uses these on a daily basis(as well as the larger channellock varieties), the knipex are 100% worth the money for both daily and occasional use. The bite of the knipex has the trapezoid shape that conforms to the surface you are applying them to which substantially increases grip and reduces marring. The pushbutton makes changing the jaw depth way smoother and keeps it exactly there vs regular water pumps which easily slip out of groove. The knipex are a helluva lot lighter than comparable sizes from other manufacturers. The profile is much slimmer making the easier to get into tighter areas.
Knipex does have other tools that I go to other manufacturers first, but their lock and groove pliers absolutely cannot be beat.

Question: What do you think "out of pocket" means?

This guy knows. Also, and this is just my anecdotal experience, but I browse facebook marketplace often for tools and I basically never see Knipex. People do sometimes sell good tools, for various reasons, but Knipex just don't pop up. I think that's because they are so damn good.

Dude, you gotta drink the kool-aid. It's FUELish to question Milwaukee Tools, the leader in trademarked FEATures (right after WeatherTech, that is)!

First, buying this three pack is a bit overkill for a homeowner or casual user. Second, buying one is definitely not. I bought the 10 in on sale for ~$27 back in 2021 and it's been by far the best as some folks above have also mentioned. I've used it more than casually (not in the trades) and this thing will outlive me.
