I heavily rely on WD Reds for my archive/ data backup... obviously I used nvme and whatnot for OS and gaming storage, but for proper archival of my photography and important pictures and files, I back them up ONLY on WD Reds.... which is why Im in this thread, seeing if this is better than my current method of backing my stuff up every couple months to deep cold storage....

I mean, would you like to buy me 12tb of nvme drives, all redundant and mirrored with some shipped off to off-site locations? That will add up in price pretty quick......

Plenty of use for regular HDDs for servers and archive storage. Nobody is buying 10+ Tb SSDs for NAS. The only reason why people might not use them anymore is that they are too freaking expensive now.
