I use this every day, I think this is a solid deal. I've utilized The Ordinary's internal "Subscribe and Save" system and it has gotten close to this price but this slightly beats it!

How natural is this product? Any downsides?

Niacinamide is already in most skincare products such has toners, lotions, moisturizers, even sunscreens. This is redundant and a waste of time if you already applying any of the above.
Also too much Niacinamide can also irritate skin so make sure you actually need it if you are already using other products that potentially have it already.

It's a small discount since Ordinary products are pretty inexpensive but 15% off is 15% off!

One thing to check is if any of your other products contain niacinamide. I recently got the CeraVe AM lotion which has it, though it doesn't say a percent ):, but while I use that I switched to only using this in my PM routine.

Well it's necessary for life and your body naturally produces it, so, yea. Obviously it's not necessary to slather it on your face to live, but you would die quickly without it because you would no longer have a functioning metabolism.

Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3. Products like this containing it will have likely been produced via chemical reaction, but it also naturally occurs in things like yeast, meat, milk, some vegetables, etc.

Like anything you can be allergic or have a reaction based on your own custom biochemistry. It happens, but is fairly rare which is why niacinamide is considered a pretty safe ingredient and is often put in many skin care products.

Usually I dislike posting in threads where I am the OP because I don't want to look like a salesman, but I can't believe this is a serious comment.
You genuinely think the minuscule amount of niacinamide added as a secondary ingredient in some products has the same effectiveness as this 10% concentration serum?

A majority of toners and moisturizers already have 2-5% Niacinamide which is usually the ideal percentage. Most people if they are even considering this are using both and it's already cumulatively 10%. Anything above 5% is clinically proven not to give a return on investment.
10% is clinically proven to be sensitizing and irritating. Please educate yourself.

Niacinamide is easy to formulate in your own lotion or serum since it's so water soluble, and niacinamide powder is so cheap.

"A majority of toners and moisturizers already have 2-5% Niacinamide" - False. This is something you totally made up.

The "ideal percentage" depends on the user and their skin's needs. Everyone's skin is different.

"Most people if they are even considering this are using both and it's already cumulatively 10%." - Another totally made up claim. Where is the evidence for this wild claim? Even if this were true, it contradicts your claim that 10% is bad. Obviously it's not an issue if most people are already using 10%, right?

"Anything above 5% is clinically proven not to give a return on investment." - Absolutely false. 10% is more effective than 5%.

"10% is clinically proven to be sensitizing and irritating." - So what? Even 2% can be too irritating for some people. There are many people that can tolerate 10% without issue once their skin gets used to it. It entirely depends on one's skin. Also, just because an ingredient is sensitizing or irritating doesn't automatically mean it's bad. Many effective skincare ingredients are sensitizing/irritating by nature. Some examples are retinoids, AHAs, BHAs, and many anti-acne products.

Surprised im the first but this is easily the craziest sd ive seen yet, 45 upvotes and its a dollar off. A dollar. Im all for the more the merrier, but this is straight up an advertisement.
And the reason why i care, while this deal really doesnt apply, but occasionally sometimes things get pushed to the front page, which are solely meant for impulse purchases, and since sd has so many users now, something that is like 10% off gets sold out, and/or sets the tone for like deal prices, where like 70% of the purchases woukd have never bought it otherwise.
