For anybody else curious, 316 stainless has a minimum of 2% molybdenum, which gives it excellent resistance against chlorides and salt.
If you are using this to hold up a loose exhaust and you happen to live in an area where they use salt during winter, 316 will prevent you from having to replace it every year. Then again, a 100 pack of 12" 316 ties is closer to $30 (based on my initial searches).

I actually bought these 2years? ago for to replace some straps that broke on some muffler shielding under my car. I just changed my oil a bit over a week ago on my 22yr old car and noticed/admired how nice they still look... newest looking part under my car anyhow
Also used a few for a garbage can lid... still holding up well.
Still have 80-90 left to use...
