AI boom. New data centers are siphononing all RAM, SSD, HDD capacity. But at least AI will replace all jobs and we won't have money to buy anything. /s

wow, $79 on amazon, says I bought 2 in October 2024 for $25 each.......also says I have bought 12 of them and I have a few spares still (security cameras and drone) so hopefully I can wait this nonsensical pricing out.

AI isn't using SD cards. True. But manufacturers of these SD cards are the same manufacturers of RAM sticks and SSDs. And they allocated most of their prododuction line to the demands of AI tech, producing their specific RAM modules and SSDs since those big AI companies are paying good amount of money to those manufacturers. Guess what? Production of these parts decreases, the stock level goes low while market demand hasn't changed. And this is when the prices of these units sky-rocket. Why? because demand is higher than the stock, and competition gets formed, and prices increase.

Unless you need it right now... wait. The less we buy at these fauxflated prices, the lower they drop.
