That's incorrect; even at 4k it provides a 10-20% uplift in many modern games: https://youtu.be/5GIvrMWzr9k?si=68_ni7qu4BY__ulY

Not to take away from your and Steven's point, but HUB didn't test native 4K in that vid. It was DLSS upscaled to 4K on balanced which is native somewhere between 1080p and 1440p (1253 to be exact). This was done by Steve because it was considered more real world as most high graphic intensive games wouldn't even hit 60fps with a 4090 at native 4K, regardless of CPU. I'm guessing no native 1440p was included in that testing because (as Steve would probably tell you) it wouldn't show the performance of the 9800x3d over the others because you'd be GPU limited.

While the person you're replying to is being hyperbolic (and likely trolling), it is true that as the scenario becomes more GPU limited, that the difference in performance between say a 9800x3d and 9700x would be felt less.

In the end, as with anything PC performance related, it just depends on how the specific gamer profiles on whether they are going to benefit from all that extra performance that absolutely is there for the product at the top of Ryzen's stack.

10-20% for more than double the price of a very capable Ryzen 5 or Intel 5 cpu. Nonsense.

I've read overwhelmingly positive feedback on this cpu. Nice to see this somewhere other than a Micro Center.

If I'm not mistaken, hasn't the 9800X3D been on sale for less than $430 in the past...

That's what I figured which was why I was confused a/b this being a deal, but I guess "$399" must be considered old pricing now, lol.
