FI is qci 6 on tmobile network.
make sure you use a referral link to get 60 dollars off before you sign up.
A couple tips / things to keep in mind if you're considering going with Google Fi:
You can get an additional $60 Google Fi statement credit if you use a referral code when initially signing up.
If you're porting multiple numbers for yourself or family members, make sure everyone fully joins the plan before the March 25th deadline. We were told we had 30 days to port everyone, but two family members didn't accept their email invites before the 50% cutoff. Getting Google Fi support to honor the promo afterward was quite a hassle.
If you by chance have an Amex Blue Cash Preferred card, Google Fi codes as "internet streaming" (which counts under their streaming perk), so I've been getting 6% cash back on my Fi phone bill.
Overall my family and I haven't noticed any drawbacks on Unlimited Standard, and are saving over $80 per month compared to our previous T-Mobile plan.
Community Reviews
Google Fi's 50 percent off promo makes Unlimited Essentials and Unlimited Standard especially attractive for multi line setups, with per line pricing dropping as lines are added and bill credits applied monthly for 12 months. The service runs on T Mobile with QCI 6 priority, and the comments point to solid everyday performance, including smooth porting from T Mobile and strong savings for families. The main tradeoffs are strict promo rules, new customer eligibility, 30 day activation, and no plan changes without losing the discount. International roaming is limited on the sale plans, hotspot is missing on Standard, and taxes and fees still apply.
Common Questions (5)
Unlimited Standard does not include hotspot, and the sale plans do not include international roaming beyond Canada/Mexico roaming. The plan also has a 50GB fast-speed pool before speeds drop.
Fi runs on T-Mobile with QCI 6 priority, so it can feel like regular T-Mobile service when T-Mobile coverage is good. Visible can be heavily deprioritized, while Fi still depends on T-Mobile signal quality and may be a poor fit in weak-coverage areas.
The promo is for new Fi customers or people whose last Fi service ended more than 180 days ago, so added lines on an existing account generally do not qualify. Group members must accept the invite and join before the promo expires, and each qualifying line must activate within 30 days.
Yes. The discount is delivered as monthly bill credits for 12 months, and changing or suspending the account or switching off Unlimited Standard or Unlimited Essentials before then voids the promo. The offer also applies only to new Fi customers who activate within 30 days.
Taxes and fees are still charged, but the promo also halves the taxes on the newly activated line. Reported examples include about $3.50-$5.50 per line in Oregon and about $11 total for 4 lines in New Jersey, which drops to roughly $5-$6 for all 4 lines under the promo.

Anyone know the answer?
If anybody does still want to go with Fi, I'd advise doing it where 48 hours of interrupted cell phone data is OK
According to chat support - You need to sign up before the expiration date. After you sign up, you'll have 30 days to activate your devices with Fi.
Edit: the fine print say "For group plans, group members must accept the invite and sign up before the promotion expires to qualify for the bill credits.", so it's best for the members to accept the invite before tomorrow! But they don't have to activate until later, as long as it's within 30 days.
After you accept, you should see your own info in Google Fi and the "Promo in Progress" will show. I presume you would log into Google Fi app as yourself, vs the primary member, to activate...

If I already have Fi, can I do this on a different email and port the number? Or does that not work?
