- They are somewhat thin but not super thin. I'd say the material is fine.
- The pocket is deep enough for my Samsung Note 20 Ultra 5G, which is a big phone. The entire phone fits in the pocket, with about a half an inch of material to spare. I don't recall if I've had issues with the phone coming out of the pocket when I sit.
- they do run small. I am 5'10 and about 200 lb, athletic build, slight midsection, and larger than normal hips. I wear XL underwear, but L shorts. My pants are size 36/30 and fit well, with a small bit of wiggle room in the waist so I usually wear a belt too. My primary other gym shorts are the Russell athletic mesh shorts, and the Amazon Essential mesh shorts. Both of those fit perfect in a large. These shorts in large are smaller - specifically around the waist but the hips are ok - and in hindsight I would have considered an XL. To be fair, I am only seeing now after someone else commented that Large is 31"-33" so I likely needed an XL (34"-36") or XXL (36"-38"). But also to be fair, on what planet is Large only 31"-33".
- these don't breathe as well as the aforementioned because they don't have aerated mesh holes
- If you get the right size, these are a great deal at $20, but not more.
- The Amazon Essential shorts are on sale for $10 for a two pack for certain colors and sizes. Given the only slightly more price/short, I would definitely recommend the Amazon ones over these. I just realized that the Amazon ones are on sale in certain size and color combinations, and I posted a deal on that just now.

Not because of the quality but because it doesn't fit right. It's like low cut jeans. If you wear it like normal, the crotch area is too tight.
