A good deal would generally mean a decent decrease compared to the typical price, right? Not from whatever random number the manufacturer decided to use as MSRP. 30-50 cent rebate would hardly qualify as a front page kind of discount.

Can't say you're wrong.
For me it shows 10% off for the Bedtime Bear Squishmallow on Amazon:
-10% $6.80
Typical price: $7.55

While I agree with the above comments, I see that on other sites it's impossible to find these toys under $10. Are other seeing the same?

So while the "typical price" on Amazon is under $10 not making this seem like a good deal, the prices on all other websites online outside of Amazon have this way over $10, making it a good deal in the end.
