pro tip: use a cardboard tube from the inside of a paper towel roll. If it needs to be longer, use one from the center of Christmas wrapping paper. FREE

Most shop vac hoses are too big. The outer diameter I think on this hose is 0.73 in. which can let you really get into the cavity where the lint trap goes, and also make the bend so that the hose can also get into the opening/hole that connects the lint cavity with the exhaust pipe that's inside the dryer. The good is that the hose is easily maneuverable in that small space. The bad is that the hose clogs easily, and you'll have to unclog it a few times if there's quite a bit of large chunks of lint. Also the worst part for me at least is that since the hose is so small in diameter, running vacuum air through the hose causes a really loud, high pitched whistle. On mine, I actually wear ear plugs while I clean the trap out.

good price but you should really buy one with the long brush stick. The suction from a vac won't be strong enough to get the lint that is attached to the inside of the dryer. You need to use the brush first to scrap the lint off then use a vac to suck the lint out.

Community Reviews

This dryer vent cleaner kit is mainly valued for its slim, flexible hose that reaches deep into the lint trap area and tight bends where standard vacuum attachments cannot fit. It can pull out a surprising amount of lint, improve airflow, and even help with other hard to reach spots like fridge coils or under furniture. The included brush and vacuum combo is often described as more useful than suction alone. Fit can be finicky on some vacuums, and the narrow hose may clog, whistle loudly, or feel too flimsy for heavy buildup.

Why did this get bumped back up to the top of the front page and has a "New since your last visit" banner? This has been on the frontpage (albeit lower) for a few days.

Why do Slickdeals staff posts sometimes get bumps on the frontpage to make them seem like new deals again? Seems deceitful, but add it to the list.

Per camelocamelcamel, these were about a dollar less last fall so they may drop again in 6 months or so if you don't need it now.

If you have one you can probably use the super powered wolfbox air duster to push it through the dryer and out the vent. Things ridiculous, I have used it as a quick leaf blower on pack porch.

Edit: Oh I guess it does work for Dysons. Nice!

Darn, I was looking for one of these but for my Dyson V series.

If you and your neighbors save your empty toilet paper tubes and tape them together you can make a really long skinny hose and not only save money on this product, but also avoid buying gift wrap for the longer tubes.
