I literally threw my Wyze cameras in the trash. I won't even bother trying the v4 because I already know if I buy one it'll just join its older siblings in the dump.

Same, I just gave away my last Wyze cam. TBH the hardware is excellent. What lets it down is the company no longer providing RSTP firmware in order to push their subscription. It just doesn't make sense to get Wyze cams when there are cameras that support rtsp, support recording to local storage, all without a monthly fee for similar pricing.

I have Pan Cam v3s and Cam v4s and they work pretty well, though the experience can be laggy. The main selling point for me was the local storage as well as the low subscription pricing, where I just have the Cam Plus plan for my main Pan Cam v4. I switched my main driveway cam from a Pan Cam v3 to v4 and going into it, I knew there were bad reviews with the v4, which I assumed would be fixed over time with firmware updates. It's definitely improved, though I still have issues with the waypoints as it keeps adjusting itself a bit and it throws off my detection zone. But other than that they've been pretty reliable.

I still have v1 cameras going strong, but also have a v2 pan, v3 pan, and several normal v4 cameras. I can only speak for myself but they have been great.

I don't know about v4 but the last official firmware for the Pan Cam v3 got RTSP.
