I stock up when they go on sale. I generally have one that's dedicated heated for manual transmission fluid, one for power steering fluid, one for coolant and one for brake fluid and then a few spares. I just wipe them off and put them in a ziplock bag when I'm done and then label the bag.

Every single one of these I've used for siphoning gas or oil has failed if let to sit for a day or two. I've had 6 of these in the past 4 years. Anyway, one was so bad it failed 2 minutes into siphoning a gas tank - new from package yet!

Just a small FYI if for whatever reason you need to return this, you need to go through the online return process and not in store. Even if you don't use it.

Good deal, but the store is too far away it kills the deal for me. Cheers to those close to the store! Peace

Yes. These are extremely low quality. Have went through several myself.

Recently worked beautifully to change (add) trasmission fluid in one of those idiotic "lifetime sealed" units.

The battery powered transfer pump at HF is also on sale for $6.50. It's probably worth the extra buck for convenience and better quality.

This one is cheap and definitely useful but extremely flimsy and always finds a way to break with normal use. The hose connectors on my last one snapped when putting them together the first time.

Maybe choose this one if you need a small pump for emergency where you can't rely on batteries, otherwise the battery powered model is probably better for home/shop/garage

Thanks, that's exactly what I was considering using it for (I either need a flex tube to drain down and into the side of the transmission or from under and pump out of the bottle into the side)

I've had one for years from harbor freight and now can't find it. For this price I'm headed over there today to get another one. I have used it for many things, except food because I've changed the transmission fluid with it! Mine worked for years just fine.

Have been using this one unit for the past 5 years to siphon gas out of small engine to winterize or snowblower. Still works and I bought a spare last year thinking it will go bad.
