So there's this Youtuber whose studio tour video caught my attention today, and he mentioned that he uses the Yamaha HS8's studio monitors as his daily driver. I'm just curious to know how the ones in the OP compare to those...

I don't have experience with these but I have some of the jbl 8 and 5s. Often the sound will be somewhat similar with the 8s having more low end. Sometimes 5 in speakers with a sub will do the trick and take up a lot less desk space.

I have the HS5 monitors, and I love them! I use them every day to mix my compositions, listen to music, stream videos, and watch movies. I used to own KRKs, and like these more. Definitely a solid set of speakers for the 300-dollar range. The audio interfaces I am using are the Volt 1 (studio) and the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 4th gen (office).

These are very good speakers, but they are overkill for most uses like a PC. They are often bundled with electronic pianos, for example, and they're plenty loud for that.

Thank you! This is super slick for the hs7 or hs8. I wanted something with a bit more bass than the hs5. A pair of the highly rated hs8 are $495 after applying discount code and before tax.
