I got this phone a year ago for the cost of 2 months (maybe 3?) on Straight Talk. It is infuriatingly slow. I just use it for work and it's so annoying to use that I almost never use it.

You have to opt for the $75 plan but not pay. After you get the phone, call/chat with Verizon to cancel the service .. only get charged pro rated for a day of service not full $75

I also have this phone and do not find it slow at all for basic tasks. May be you're doing some heavy stuff for work ?

Don't waste your money on any A series. My A35 is my biggest regret. Go with a Moto stylus 2025 instead

OK... we should no longer be calling SLICKDEALS... SLICKDEALS, the new name should be SLICKTORTURE because it will be torture to use a 4GB phone in a year from now... and for some people it will be now.

Not only did you buy this bad phone, you just locked yourself in for what two years?

And this phone's CPU is basically as fast as a G99 or SD695 which has been the slowest tablet to buy (WITH 8GB OF RAM) for the last three years.

So here is my advice.
1. SWITCH to mint mobile or Visible
2. Get a phone with 8GB of RAM and if you can not afford this then get a uSED phone with 8GB of RAM.

SAMSUNG...
So TODAY's Samsung phones are full of bloatware AND spyware. Samsung devices has about 300% more bloatware then Samsung phones from 3 years ago.

I believe this is the FIRST PHONE sold in the USA that has APPCLOUD (SPYWARE that has the ability to install apps on your device WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION... and it spys on you... and those apps are based on what Samsung thinks you need based on your phone habits)

Lastly, there are MANY security updates that never get installed on a Samsung device because it messes with One UI. Because of this, Samsung probably had the most vulnerable phones in the world last year.

MOTO.... (Better then Samsung... but not by much)
Historically, Motorola has been the "gold standard" for a clean, near-stock Android experience, but in 2025 and 2026, the gap between Moto and Samsung has narrowed significantly—and not in the way most people would hope.

While Motorola's Hello UI (the successor to MyUX) still looks like a Google Pixel, they have started integrating some of the same "revenue-generating" software you'll find on the Samsung A-series.
The Good: The "Stock" Feel

Visuals: It is much closer to "Stock Android" than Samsung's One UI. There aren't dozens of duplicate apps (like Samsung's own browser, store, and keyboard) competing with Google's.

Moto Gestures: You still get the classic "chop-chop" for the flashlight and "twist" for the camera, which are genuinely useful and don't feel like bloat.

Performance: Because the UI is lighter, it often feels "snappier" than a Samsung device with the same processor.

The Bad: The New Bloat

Motorola has recently followed Samsung's lead by including several persistent "suggestion" tools:

AppCloud / App Center: Just like the Samsung A16, recent Moto Stylus models (especially carrier-branded versions) now include AppCloud. It will try to push "recommended" games and apps during setup and after updates.

Glance for Moto: This is a "lock screen overlay" that shows news, ads, and sponsored content. It is often enabled by default and can be a major annoyance, though you can turn it off in the Lock Screen settings.

Setup "Trap": When you first turn on a 2025 or 2026 Moto Stylus, it will show a screen with a list of "recommended apps." These are usually pre-checked. If you just hit "Next" without unchecking them, you'll end up with 10+ games and social media apps you didn't ask for.

News App: Recent updates have introduced a "#News" app (often powered by NewsBreak) that can be difficult to fully uninstall and frequently sends notifications

SO while MOTO is better then Samsung IMHO, they are both bad companies. I feel we are stuck with the Pixel phone AND THAT IS IT.
