So I bought this generator for $250 around Christmas as a backup to my Honda. About a month ago I had to bring the Honda in so I broke this unit out. It's small and lighter but only holds approximately .6 gal of fuel, and it's a bit louder than the Honda. It probably won't run for 8 hours on a light load. More like 5-6 max. I use this generator to charge up a Ecoflow pro when it's been cloudy here in the rainforest. If the 3600 watt hour battery is at 0%, one tank of gas on this generator won't charge to 100%, it makes it to about 75%. If I pull about 1400 watts from the generator it will last about 2h on a tank. This is about as cheap as I'd go for a generator. I've had 5 different Chinese generators, they all crap out early. The Yamaha lasted way longer without issue but I go with Hondas now.I've put about 15 hours on this die hard unit and so far so good. I'll really happy to get 500 hours out of it, but don't think I will. If you want something that's going to work without having to tinker with it then get a Honda.

5 hours at 50% load seems pretty low. Tiny tank on this unit maybe? Still, its a good price, but if I were in the market, i'd want something that could make it through the night on a light or medium load.

Can't go wrong with Costco! I bought this generator the last time they had it on sale, and it was a dud. It just kept stalling within 5 minutes with no load. I had no problem returning it to my local Costco and ordering another one that worked great.

Yeah, but this one is way better. It has carbon fiber side panels for the ultimate electrical generating experience.

Even if you get two of these in a parallel connection, you aren't connecting this to a home panel, right?

Worth a shot. In for one. I have a $120 1000w sportsman generator inverter that has lasted 10 years of seldom use once every few years. Just had to replace a fuel line this year. I guess I have experience with cheap Chinese generators. I've always wanted a Honda but so far haven't felt the need to splurge on one yet.

I don't know if I would call that "can't go wrong" lol. It's good it's easier to return at Costco, but dealing with a dud generator and having to haul it back to the store to return it seems like a pain.

It weighs less than a Costco size bag of dog food. Certainly not super convenient, but doable with the vast majority of cars.

That's what I wanted to know. Thanks.
I was thinking of something like this to keep oil furnace running but I think ill wait for a deal on cheaper gas powered unit that can charge battery powered generator and use battery powered as backup power.
I remember reading gas unit can charge battery in like an hour?
