I have never paid full price. Sign up for half price. Let it expire, then they will offer you another year at the reduced price.

What makes them any different than Amazon? The problem is that you seem to be out of the loop. You don't need to pay a fee to shop at Walmart! You're paying a flat fee (which is far less than Amazon), in order to get unlimited free deliveries (otherwise, you're compelled to spend $35 or pay a delivery fee)....and if you're within a certain distance to a Walmart store or warehouse, you may qualify for free same-day deliveries. Those are the basic benefits to having the subscription. There are additional benefits as well.
You're not obligated.
Regardless, Walmart is more reliable than Amazon these days, since Amazon makes delivery promises that they often don't keep (since they're mostly dysfunctional)!

Because it covers shipping on just about everything and someone will even come to my house to pick up my returns.

Seems like a pretty fair deal at the discounted rate.

This worked for me and I was already on the $49.00 offer from last year. OP is correct, shows as soon as you hit cancel, but obviously YMMV. If you don't see it now, I would just wait til closer to when your membership expires.
Mine expired at least 6 months ago and they never gave me that offer, the re-join offer was always full price. This one isn't showing for me either.

Did not work for me as someone who has already canceled and whose membership is still active. Canceled a few months ago. Darn! Maybe next time.

Wrong. I had Walmart plus. Too many items wouldn't ship without hitting the $35 minimum. I'm not talking about food. Amazon will ship a bottle of Apple Barrel paint alone. They're ship a carton of Qtips alone. Walmart won't. It was a waste. Amazon blows Walmart away.

The way it worked for me: went to manage membership, it showed the $49 deal and under the renewal date with the $98. I clicked on the manage link, then cancel, and it showed at the top a $49 renewal offer with a claim offer button. I clicked on that and it took me back to the manage membership page with the same renewal date but this time renewal of $49. There was some other information throughout regarding agreeing to renew at regular rate after the promotional period (now a year later) unless cancelled, etc. but this was the basic process. Thanks to newgun.

We really like inHome delivery. We got it when my wife gave birth and adds real value when grocery shopping is an ordeal with a newborn.
Cancelled Prime and just fill my cart until I have $35 worth I send it. They killed the value add of prime when they added commercials to Prime Video. Spend less that way too

Do most of your orders come by mail or is it by Spark drivers?
Probably based on your locale, but probably 90% come by people in their personal vehicles.

Yep, I'm on a current $49 deal. Membership renews in July at $98, however it isn't showing a $49 rate for me yet.

Walmart's selections are more limited but they package fragile items better and their choice of Paramount Plus or Peacock is a bonus to keep up with Prime Video.

Didn't happen for me. So cancelled. Check every now and then and still $98.

No $49 annual fee for me. I may try again as I get closer to renewal in December
