That ship has sailed. People do not care about the key card thing. These key card games are selling very well. I'm guilty though. I've already bought a couple of games on key cards. Shrug. It's fine.
people would rather pay $20 less and use the GKC, as it costs third party devs extra money to put it on a real cartridge

Steam Deck is portable, but I just googled it and everyone says it runs much worse on Steam Deck. So Switch 2 is clearly the best portable option.

For games like FF7 a game card may not be an option since google says they only hold up to 64 gb and FF7 is like 100 gb. So I suppose they could put part of the game on the card, but you will still have to download a large part of the game. So what's the point?

worse screen than a steamdeck, and worse frame rate, but okay lol, it has a slightly better resolution but switch 2 running at 30 fps and with an lcd vs oled screen that most have on the steamdeck ill take the steamdeck everyday but to each their own

Most have on the steam deck? What do you mean? Is it a lottery? Do some people buy a Steam Deck and get an oled and others don't? I'm confused. Why would most have oled? Is it not standard? Do you pay more for an oled?

Okay, so you're paying a lot more for a steamdeck oled than a Switch 2 AND getting worse performance? Sign me up! /s

Ahhhh alright cool I was worried storywise about 1-6, if you jump right into 7 is that problematic.Thats great about the second remake coming out as the second part to this.
Final Fantasy games are all unrelated to each other. Each has their own story. There will be some in the series (X,XIII,VII remake) that have multiple games for the story but it's not very common. Those will have the same numbering so you know they are connected (X, X-2).

If you start with this one, playing older games may seem frustrating. I will say, some of my favorites are IV and VI on the Super Nintendo. They have the Pixel Remaster you can grab that has 1-6.

TD, not a good product. Game-key cards never will be.
The problem is that this game won't fit on a physical cartridge. If you are going to TD anything, it should be Nintendo's decision to cap physical carts at 64GB. If you prefer a straight download without the card, disregard.
Back on topic, though, this is a fantastic game at a great price.

Theres not really a way around it for this game. It's 90GB.

I've played FF7 Remake on the Steam Deck when it was first ported to PC and it's pretty much 720p 30 fps on low there, too. Plus the awful dynamic resolution.

Locked 30FPS in 2026 is a joke, do yourself a favor.... play it on a pc or xbox or ps5
Gta 6 on ps5 will be 30fps and wont be avail on pc for years. Do yourself a favor and get a ps5 pro to play it at 60fps

The Steam Deck LCD was released first (64GB glossy $399, 256GB glossy $549, 512GB matte $649). The Steam Deck OLED was introduced more than a year later (512GB glossy $549, 1TB matte $649). When the OLED was released, Valve dropped the 64GB and 512GB LCD models and made the 256GB LCD the entry-level at $399 (albeit they phased it out late 2025).

The OLED model got a slightly bigger display (with smaller bezels), 90Hz refresh rate, bigger battery and some efficiency improvements. Many LCD owners upgraded to OLED.

I kept my 64GB LCD (upgraded to 2TB) and 512GB LCD as I tend to get PWM migraines with OLED.
