A snap back is always a challenge for battery replacement. Spec says leather strap, but it looks rubber.

It looks like rubber, but they normally do those red stitches on the leather straps so I think it's just very smooth leather.

The expectation that everyone needs a watch that will appreciate in value, particularly for a watch which only costs $100 to begin with, in unrealistic. There are clearly a lot of people for whom $100 is a lot of money, but for a lot of other people it isn't when it comes to watch they need and like the look of.
