Finally a Timex at a Timex price. Water & scratch resistant, leather band, date, and decent looking (many sub-$30 watches are hideous looking). I had one like this as a kid, sans the light up dial, brings back memories. And, at this price, why not?

While I don't own this exact model, I've owned a handful of Timex watches, including extremely similar watches over the years, and they are great for the price and this price is excellent.
I cracked the case of a plastic camper model in basic training, but it still kept going and miraculously didn't suffer from getting water in it. I have a basic ironman that's going on 20 years old and despite a few now mushy buttons, all of the markings rubbed off the case and a hazy face (plastic not glass) from tons of big spray, still functions perfectly. I had an extremely sturdy, if bulky, expedition model that went for at least 10 years, that I gave away to a buddy, but he lost, that also functioned perfectly. A plastic cased expedition model, in this size (I think), that is still going, though my son broke the date function. I also have two mk1 chronographs, in this size that are excellent (though they have domed acrylic crystals, which I like aesthetically).
The size is great for me. Very readable and doesn't look large at all on my approximately 7 3/4" wrist. And indigo is simply great illumination, functionally as good as it gets (I prefer nice lume over a light, but that's just preference).
They are quartz, so very accurate.
The crystal will scratch, but consider the price. I also don't care about this and think it adds character.
Water resistance might seem a bit low, but I've had no issues with water, even in models with a lower wr rating, and would wear this without hesitation for anything short of scuba diving.
I don't think you can go wrong if you want is an analog beater watch. I'd probably get this if it had white/cream face, I just don't need another one with a dark face.
