It's the lowest price on Amazon in 90 days and HD is $107 and Knipex are hard to find at discount. If you know of a better price, please post it.

I have this set and it's superseded every other pair of pliers I previously had as the tools I always reach for. These pliers really are excellent quality and I highly recommend them if you can afford them.

It's not a crazy deal, but this is the variety pack I would choose if I were gonna spend around $90 on Knipex. The pliers wrenches are just expensive (and the ones I would want most, personally), and I don't think I've ever seen this size go below $35 individually. TwinGrip is probably gonna run you $25 minimum, and cobra pliers $30 on a good day. So if you want these three tools, there's no great reason to hesitate.

I'm really only seeking the pliers wrench, so I'm probably going to wait for a deal on them specifically. There's a good chance this same price will roll around again, so I wouldn't be afraid of missing out too much.

I've got this set, too. They're very good tools. I lived too long with crappy pliers that made already unpleasant jobs worse.

Question for you guys who have these and have used them...

What's so much better about them? Not an argument. I'm just genuinely curious. I read the comments and I understand the excitement, because I've had tools that do that to me, too. I'm just curious about what could possibly be so much better about pliers that people would spend this much on them.

I have the cobra pliers and a side cutter. Th-0e cobra has a lot of "micro adjustments" on the gap width, and a nice easy button push to adjust. I was coming from a $8 budget brand with the fixed slots that you have to line up right, and often slip. Also was totally rusted after years of use.

Side cutters has a much nicer grip than the cheaper brand I had been using. Also old one rusted and had a tip broken off from years of use.

I am not here to say the incremental $20 is worth it per tool, but I also don't regret it. You could always buy one for $30-40 before you commit to a set.

Other note I have heard on these, you can shop the German .de amazon site and sometimes get better deals. Never tried it though.

You have to use tools a good bit to really understand "good" vs "bad" quality tools in my opinion. Overall, its three things for me: function, feel/ergonomics, and reliability. These hit all three really well. These grip better than other brands, feels good in the hands, and are less likely to break/ use superior materials. Its that simple. If you rarely use tools, going cheaper may be the better option. I've spent/spend enough time working on things to not be using the best i can get.

If you ever busted your knuckles because a cheap wrench slipped you'll understand

Aircraft mechanic here.. if you're asking "do I need these?" Then you don't need these (or any Knipex). You should already have these if you're in the trade or you use tools daily for your job. For the people who just need tools for the house or the person doing their own car maintenance, just go to HF or buy a tools sets from one of the big box stores. I do all my auto maintenance at home using HF, HD, and Amzon tools. I leave my expensive and specialty tools at the hangar.

Honestly, if you havent bought Knipex yet, you should start out buying the Cobras and Pliers Wrench in 10". Probably the most useful size for the two. Also the Twin Grips are really really good and deserve as much or more praise as the others.
