I don't mind a switch, but being in-line on the cable and about a foot from the base (per a review, not mentioned on the actual product listing )Smilie is a bummer. I have a couple lamps like that currently and it's just annoying trying to find the switch. Minor, sure, but it's confusing and frustrating especially to someone not familiar with the switch location.

I also miss 3-ways, where the bulb lets you pick between three distinct brightnesses (touch lamps often have this functionality too).

Personally I don't mind losing the usb ports for something I want to be both functional and decorative, like these (imo it would take away from these looking like "nice lamps"). That said -- especially in the bedroom, someone used to that would miss the ease of having a port readily accessible for plugging into!

I am looking for nice lamps for years. These are not as bad as others, but still not what I would like. Most lamps I see around are just ugly. Why do they make ugly lamps? Of course I'm not rich and not looking at high end places, but why they can't make affordable nice lamps.

This looks like a decent platform for customization. You know, for addons such as Zigbee switches or 3D-printed lampshades. Ordered the blue and the green.

We put wifi-enabled RGB bulbs in right away, and now Alexa handles everything.

I picked up the green ones. They look pretty nice but $16/each feels like a fair price, not a particularly slick deal. I'm controlling via hue bulbs which negates the awkward switch location and they look pretty decent in the shades.
