Mine arrived with an expired warranty. Contacted Apple to update the purchase date. They tried to but ultimately could not because Woot was not the original seller, and the warranty is based on when it was sold by the original seller. So, while it is new in box, it does not come with the expected warranty.
Woot offered to replace it, but I assume any replacement would likely have the same issue, and I don't want to deal with porting the cellular service again.

This Apple Watch Series 9 deal stands out for the stainless steel, cellular model at a sharp price, with several recent purchases described as sleek and effectively like new. Recent arrivals included original Apple packaging, Apple certified refurbished condition, and batteries at 100 percent or fresh battery replacements. The main caution is warranty handling, since Woot units have arrived with expired coverage or required manual Apple date updates. It is a strong value if you are comfortable checking the warranty details.
Common Questions (5)
The 41mm stainless steel model drew strong interest at $249, with recent comparison prices of $279.99 for the 45mm and $229 for refurbished units or newer Series 10 deals. The stainless steel and cellular version at this price was also described as a steal.
Apple Certified Refurbished iOS devices come with a new battery and outer shell, plus genuine Apple replacement parts as needed. They are also thoroughly cleaned and inspected, and ship in a new white box with accessories, cables, free shipping, and returns.
The warranty may need manual activation with Apple using your receipt, and Apple can refuse to update the purchase date if Woot was not the original seller. Some units have arrived with an expired warranty, so it is worth checking coverage as soon as it arrives.
Units have been reported as arriving new in box, including one in the original Apple box and another with Apple-certified refurbished packaging. Even so, the warranty date can still be problematic if Apple cannot match the original sale date.
The stainless steel version has been described as sleek and, in one comparison, better looking than titanium. That makes it appealing if appearance matters more than the lighter material of titanium.

To be fair, people do this as well. "Q: Is this wild salmon" "A: yes it is". It wasn't, and this was at a very famous place.
