I was researching mid tier 55" TVs this morning and ended going with this one vs his Hisense. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Philip...7233061084 It has 144Hz refresh rate, better audio, Google (Chromecast built-in) and seems like an overall good value.

yea the Phillips wins in refresh rates, while I assume this Hisense 55" has better image quality as it uses MiniLED.
Also to note for the others, Hisense QD7QF 75" and larger sizes have 144 Hz. The smaller sizes have 60 Hz despite being the same model.

Looks like same TV but with google platform vs Amazon Firetv. If I was going to buy the HIsense, I would go with google one b/c the Firetv reportedly is loaded with ads. I prefer the Philips one I posted b/c of refresh rate an better hardware. The Hisense does have more NITs b/c of the MiniLED as mentioned by Wallaby, but that's the only thing I see better.

Get the Hisense. Mini LED screen technology is far superior and ranks just below OLED TV for color accuracy and black levels. Remember the picture is everything when it comes to buying a TV! If you don't need the high refresh rate fro gaming absolutely I'd buy this one for normal TV viewing. Don't worry about Fire TV you can always use a Roku, Google or Apple TV box instead.
