Way better in my opinion. Had many of both Motorola and Samsungs (Power, Plays, A15 A16 ect) in this price range and the Samsungs run way smoother even though in many cases the specs on paper are better on the Rolas.

Great deal for a backup phone, kept in drawer... There, in event your primary is lost, stolen, broken. At the end of the year, eBay the unlocked A16 for what you paid for it, or a couple dollars more.

BTW... I've read that the A16 gets 6 years of OS updates from Samsung.

Wondering if the sim that comes with this can be used to activate a different/better phone locked to Verizon MNVOs for a year of service to get it unlocked after 365 days.

Not familiar with the TracFone billing structure. Is this good for a year subject to the 1500 limits or is there the monthly cost as well?

Sim cards are tied to the phone. Tracfone via eBay sells the same plan for $55

I switch my Tracfone SIM into some nicer Straight Talk phones I bought with the month of service, used the service and moved My SafeLink and my older Tracfone SIM cards into the better phones.
I don't generally keep using the same phone for a few years, I'm not that interested in getting them unlocked, especially since they changed the unlock policy from 60 days to a year.

Good for I ne year of service. No additional monthly charge.
You can/will need to purchase additional data or minutes/texts in between, if you run out.

e-waste even if A16 is brand new, let alone refurbished. You are as well as if just buying the 365 days service plan only.

Speaking as a phone rep those moto gs are dog crap.Even the newest one is we sell(2025) is junk. The batteries are nice and their ui gestures are cool. But I pick a used a16 over a new moto g 2025. Idk about the 2026 I haven't been hands on with one yet but I'm not optimistic. 3 finger screen shots and shaking to turn on your flashlight are cool though can't understate that lol
