Way better in my opinion. Had many of both Motorola and Samsungs (Power, Plays, A15 A16 ect) in this price range and the Samsungs run way smoother even though in many cases the specs on paper are better on the Rolas.

Great deal for a backup phone, kept in drawer... There, in event your primary is lost, stolen, broken. At the end of the year, eBay the unlocked A16 for what you paid for it, or a couple dollars more.

BTW... I've read that the A16 gets 6 years of OS updates from Samsung.

Its not an issue. We really don't spend a lot of time on the phone and have accrued a balance of over 4000 minutes. There are some old deals that I was fortunate to find that had 24 gb data and unlimited text and talk for a year. Those are about to run out.

not since April 2025 it requires service for the device by the IMEI when purchasing if want it unlocked.

Since these come preload with 1 year plan attached to IMEI this phone will unlock after 365 days.

I have old tracfone account, that doesn't have any service. I was able to access it today after password reset. I can't edit the contact info, etc., since there is no active phone service? Anyway, when I get my phone, I log into my account and simply activate and go through the process? Thanks

We got 3 of these, and there is no wear, not even any hairline scuffs or scratches on the screens. These things are about the least used of any used products that I've ever bought.

I understand the Phone is locked to tracfone, but is the sim card locked to the phone? I have not heard of this before, wondering If i can just put the sim card in any other unlocked phone.

Sim is registered to imei of phone it comes with, if you want to use the service in an unlocked phone you need to purchase & activate a TF BYOP sim. It's the way TF brands have worked for years.
