should we trust a slickdeals staff on this? they cant even list a retail price correctly. its like $195 at retail store.
I wouldn't, deals are pushed for personal gains not the random poster giving inside info anymore. Yet, out of habit I continue to look but quit posting deals
Can I use this key to upgrade or does it have to be a fresh install?
I just upgraded from 10pro to window 11 pro. I just had to adjust my motherboard settings to make it compatible such as enabling secure boot, and TPM 2.0. Pretty smooth process and there are my videos that explain how to do it.
You do not need a clean install. You may need to make some adjustments to be able to upgrade though like if your hdd is partioned as MBR, you'll need to change it to GPT. It's a pretty easy process done through CMD.
I just bought a new computer from a local shop. They told me it came with windows but it would appear that it only came with windows installed so I need a license...
Got the same key on multiple orders, are these keys legal
I'd be concerned with this potentially. Typically when a key is used across multiple machines it's actually connecting to a server and checking out a license for X days. It's been a while since I worked in this area (about 5 years) and this setup is how we handled licensing across all of our machines. Laptops that weren't online for a while would become deactivated and the user would have to connect to the server again to login.
