A good price for this model, but those charging ports are antiquated at best

These are only useful if you need the low power that the ports give. There are plenty of third-party ones like Symik that are far better than the Ryobi offerings. They are not as cheap as this, but they are much cheaper than the decent Ryobi ones and they are much more powerful. They also double as chargers for the 18v batteries.

Can you link the particular model you recommend? Sounds nice that they double as chargers themselves for the batteries

No. Wouldn't make any sense for all the hand tools. They are simply growing the 40v line.

i keep seeing 40v thought maybe eventually all tools will switch to 40. Kobalt is up to 24v. I think some brands have 26v.
