It seems like a solid router on paper. The price I'm seeing everywhere else seems to be around $329. If you're going for that 6Ghz band I would definitely go for a mesh system as it doesn't stretch far/penetrate walls well. A Unifi Cloud Gateway Fiber and one U7 Pro would be a worthy step up from this for long term investment, expandability, and much more in-depth UI.

I have a Google mesh WiFi 5 setup with 3 points for a 150 meters squared apartment and the brick walls make it tough. I need to upgrade to WiFi 6 at least, but I doubt this one router would give me better coverage
Router looks good on paper but what a waste only 2.5Gbps ports and not a single 10Gig port. For me thats enough to pass on since you can get 10Gig routers for around the same price if not cheaper. Not that everyone needs one, but for people who have in home NAS streaming its nice to have, not to mention if you already have your house wired why not get something capable of opening up all that bandwidth...

If I did the conversion right... 1,600 sq ft apartment and you needed 3 mesh points to get wifi, you probably got some major interference issues not just brick... Normally one of these routers should be more than adequate but seems like you might be a special circumstance.

5ghz bands if placed in the center should not struggle to cover a 2000 sq ft home, if it needs to it would fall back on 2.4ghz and with how advanced the antenna technology is even 2.4ghz can now output over 100Mbps which is enough for a lot of things. As for 6ghz yeah that one is a bit of a under performer so that could be an issue since its easily messed up by interference and materials, and mostly meant for short range maximum output kind of scenarios.

TP-Link on Amazon BE550 for $176 is a steal with the 15% back on amazon card for those that want a better deal with almost all the same features. So unless you locked into Asus ecosystem due to AiMesh this is overpriced for what it is.

Go for tri-band Wifi 7. If wired backhaul isn't possible, probably putting 2 nodes on either side of the wall, close to the wall, should be sufficient.

You are going to be fine with 5ghz where 6ghz doesn't reach. The little known fact is wifi7 has standard mesh. So you if you want a mesh system, you can buy a second wifi7 router from any brand to setup the mesh in future. You don't have to splurge and get locked into Unifi Ferraris.
