I bought one myself. Works great. Only the box was damaged, as advertized.

Picked up another one. Our power always goes out during the coldest days during winter storms so doesn't hurt to have another one before next winter. Thanks!

I purchased one on Ebay. VIPoutlet was the seller. Shipped with a demolished tile. No response for weeks, filed complaint. Long story short, not worth it.

Perhaps you just simply got unlucky and fell into the 4.1% of people who aren't happy because VIPoutlet has sold close to 4 1/2 million items on eBay alone, with a 95.9% overall positive feedback score. Seems legit. And for whatever it's worth, they claim they are North America's largest refurbisher of Retailers'/Manufactures' product.

Handy item to have around, especially it you already use the 1lb green canisters or have the refillable ones like I do.
I have never had a issue with VIPoutlet and this is nearly half off with tax

You dont need to even buy the "refillable" bottles because you can actually refill the regular "disposable" green ones with a very inexpensive adaptor. You can also use an adapter and hose to hook up to a regular 20gal tank. Not as portable but if you're planning on using it for extended amounts of time in one area, that might be the way to go.

I guess I am part of that 4.5% because mine arrived covered in sticky oil and it was supposed to be brand new. I also returned and have not been refunded yet going to have to file with eBay

Bought one last time, the unit i got was well used and rusted. Took pictures and asked for a refund. Refund took a while but they made good. Will not buy another from them.

Looks like this buyer is picking up returns to Mr Buddy then flipping them on EBay. Damaged boxes kinda ok, but returns due to hardware damage, not ok. Roll of the dice...

That's how basically all "refurbished" or open box items on ebay work, since it's March and eBay will have your back it's low risk. Just be sure to test it out when you get it so you don't find out next winter that there's an issue and it's too late to return.

I purchase one last time and had issues. It was weeks of no communication from the seller. I had to return the item and finally I got a refund. Best of luck to everyone who orders.

They mostly have Walmart-style returns.

Our Walmart just had a ton of these on pallets during a week-long power outage during ice storm. They were $89 or $99.
I'm guessing a lot of people returned them after power was restored.

Either way, they are sold out now.

4.1% But sorry for your bad luck. You fall into that less than 1 in 24 people who are unhappy and from what I understand, VIPoutlet is a reseller of refurbished, not brand-new products.
