I've been searching for a Mid/High Split cable modem to increase my upload speed on Xfinity. I almost went with the Hitron CODA56 but people are still complaining about the Puma 7 chipset. My other consideration was the Arris S34 but again people had issues. The CM3000 seems the most reliable but also the most expensive. This refurb from Amazon is almost half the cost of new and it has 90 day return policy.

Thanks, OP. I have a CM1100 with a 2 Gbps plan and was under the impression that it was sufficient. After doing some research, I realized that even with link aggregation, it isn't—and this is the right approach

Time machine I know... but wasn't this $99 a few weeks ago?

Purchased a non refurbished version 6 plus months ago and Comcast/ xfinity doesn't seem to be able to get the advertised speeds to work with this modem. Not sure who is to blame but my guess is the ISP

Only in certain markets (e.g., Colorado City) and only with Xfinity modems. They are years behind on the roll out. It's hard to make large capital investments when you are losing so many customers.

Look through the Xfinity forums. Assuming your area has mid/high split you should be able to get them to provision it but it requires endless our working your way up the tech support food chain. Some have had success using the Xfinity app with support.
Double check that your modem is on their list of next gen list. I would be surprised the CM3000 hit $99.

Appreciate the suggestions. I have tried and spent many hours on it to no end. Tech was out and get 2200 plus street side and never above 1k modem side. Spoke to both US and overseas tier two and supervisors. The boot file is supposedly correct... aka provision. I get the 200 up but not the down and using a device capable of multi down. I had to give up - not common for me.

I'm looking for the upload because I'm running Channels DVR with multiple family members mooching off my subscriptions. Good to know at least the upload works. I'm only paying for 300Mbps service and my current upload is around 41Mbps. I'm hoping to get at least 100Mbps. I figure I have 90 days to see how it works.
So it was probably your post I was reading about the bootfile changes!
