I do recommend. I like it and it's my go to for headlamps, even though I have other, more expensive ones. (Like the Sofrin HS41)I really like the attachment design, as the silicone mount can be removed and placed on all manner of objects, like the shoulder strap of a backpack, allowing it to act as a sort of 90 degree hands-free light. The fact that it has a replaceable battery (that can be charged without removal) is also a great feature, enabling the headlight to still be fully functional even after the original battery loses juice, and also enabling extra batteries to be swapped out in rotation, allowing it to be used for long periods. The head strap is also pretty durable (although it's certainly the least durable part of the entire kit, which again makes the modular removable silicone mount such a great design feature, allowing the owner to swap out the head strap for a preferred one, or to replace the original if it gives out or becomes too stretched out. All of this is just my own experience and opinions of course. I've had mine for well over a year, probably closer to 2, and while I own nearly 10 flashlights from Sofrin, Wurkkos, and Streamlight (as well as some cheap Amazon ones) it has become my no-brainer among my head worn/fixed-mount options, and I've found that the battery provides plenty of duration without issue even when I'm using it (on med or high) for multiple hours. Hard to beat at $17 IMHO. Obligatory disclaimer: Not sponsored, no affiliation, bought with my own money; see profile for proof (proof of no marketing activity of any sort whatsoever)

with the discount, basically as cheap as you can get it from sofirn directly... good for basic camping\hunting and works well once you learn the trick of loosening the cap 1/4 turn when not in use to preserve battery drain. I've given a few of these out as gifts and haven't lost any friends over it..

Thanks for the info, I placed an order for one. I'm looking to use it at an astronomy park that bans white light. Can the red light be turned on and off independently from the white light? Most headlamps require cycling through the white light to get to the red light.

Well, you're a complete stranger, whose tastes no one here knows, and you didn't elaborate, so I'm going to pass on your non-recommendation.

I have this, very bright but only last about a hour. Not very useful when you need to work on something for longer period of time.

This is my favorite headlamp but for different reasons than most. I absolutely love the adjustable red light which is not common on any of these hadlamps. Great price for this headlamp

I'm using it right now, on my 2nd hour of use and it will probably last another hour. I've found It depends on how bright you need it. I use it for automotive repair work and smoking outside at night; not at its brightest settings. Been around a year of use and it's still my favorite headlamp I've purchased. I love the red lamp option, really great for camping or working outside at night. I have a brighter one, but this option is still my favorite headlamp I've purchased.

Are you saying the red lamp is good for working outside at night?

I have several of these and they are my go-to headlamp. Probably too heavy for running but for general use, camping, walking the dog at night etc these are excellent. I get them from AliExpress and they typically go for around $13.

Short answer is yes. It has a single button, from the off position long-press to turn on the red light. A normal short press turns on the white light. Once on, press-n-hold to adjust the brightness. Easy.

Price is cheap, but that tube like thing for the battery is making the whole thing bulky for night walks/ dog walks.

My favorite headlamp. Long press turns on red without having to toggle through modes.

Short press activates a singularity which bends space and time, make sure you long press.
