This vs. Costco Lenovo Legion 5i (Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, 24C Processor
16" WQXGA (2560x1600) IPS 500nits Anti-glare, 240Hz
32GB DDR5-5600 RAM
NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 5060 8GB GDDR7
Wi-Fi® 7 + Bluetooth 5.4).

I understand this has better GPU but what about build quality.

Asus Tuf is budget build. It feels cheap with the plastic flex but it gets the job done. I got the 4070 and it's been going with no issues. You can upgrade the RAM and there is a second slot for another SSD. Legion is a higher build quality and heavier. Performance wise I don't think you will see too much difference between these two but the 5070 will have a bit more punch for graphics.

I think the build quality is worth the 100 bucks imo. I had it and returned it, super nice, super high quality, bright screen, and its grey, not black, didnt see finger prints. so in my opinion, costco legion is the same as this Ryzen 9 + 5070, with better thermals/quality. you also get 2 year warranty @ costco.

my unit got 13,300 time spy,

which I punched in, Ryzen 9 270 + 5070 laptop =
Highest score: 14052
Average score: 12461

my laptop costco legion 5 with 275hx and 5060
13000 or so on balance, and 13,300 on perf mode

my legion costco time spy
13.3k perf

Whilst the burn-in indeed exist; it is not as bad as it was with earlier tech. My OLED steam deck, phones, and PC LG monitor don't have any signs of retention or burn-in after a couple of years of heavy use. Granted, I have screen-saving features enabled, e.g. picture/pixel shift, brightness dimming, and refresh where available.

My kid has as an OLED laptop (2022 ASUS VivoBook Pro 14 OLED) which she used every day at school for almost 4 years now, and it also doesn't have any screen burn-in. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. The whole laptop is covered in dents, scratches, and its battery is at 64% useful capacity though lol

I hear ya, I just like the idea that I dont have to do anything to worry about. brb leave screen on 10 hours on accident. come back, no worries. it still looks good to me, but ive never had a OLED. I have Samsung QND tvs and such, I literally avoid oled all these years and still go to led's and such.

Lenovo's feel great, dense, sharp, solid, sleek, etc, but I had two generations of 7i Pro's fail in what I consider short lifespans for the initial cost - the first 3070 in 2.5 years and the more recent 4080 in 19 months. When the second one recently died I dusted off the Asus Tuf that hadn't been powered on since I upgraded to the Legion 5+ years before, to use it to search for a replacement. I ended up going with another Asus, not the one in this post, and don't think I'll get another Legion.
