This is a package of 12 and you use one every month. Not sure what marketing idiot came up with "52 week supply"

Still, not a bad deal - thanks!

Tide Washing Machine Cleaner is a monthly washer cleaner aimed at removing residue and odors, especially for front loaders and machines that need a deep clean. The tablets are described as effective on built up softener, detergent, grime, and musky smells, with some pairing them with the washer clean cycle or hot water for stronger results. The main caveat is the packaging math, since the 12 pack is used once a month and the 52 week supply label feels misleading. A few alternatives like citric acid, dishwasher tablets, or bleach are also used instead.

If you already have Oxiclean: 1 load of oxiclean + hottest water + longest cycle. Killed the musky smell from the previous renters.

I use citric acid. Works great
I do the same about every couple of months. I also use citric acid to clean the dishwasher and our espresso machine. It is pretty much a universal cleanser!

My Samsung (I know, I know!) explicitly says not to use any products during the cleaning cycle. An indicator turns on every 40 cycles I think and I run the cycle. Keep the door and tray open after every single wash, until the next wash, and no odors at all

Maybe because 12 months = 52 weeks? Bigger number may trick people to think this can be used longer? 365 days?

Yes, being too cheap to buy washing machine cleaner and using citric acid instead.

Is there anything bad about the oxi part, like combining bleach with peroxide or whatever you're not supposed to do? Thank you.

No, this product is not for you, notice on the picture on the packaging is a front loader?

Quote from bluekiwi View quoted comment :
My top load has never been cleaned in the 7+ years I have used it, still sparkling clean and no odors. What in the heck are people doing with their machines?
What do people use this for? Or is this a solution looking for a problem kind of product?

I refuse to ever buy or use front loaders, I like to be able to close the washing machine lid and not worry about mold
Most front loaders look like this: https://southgeorgiastyle.com/cle...g-machine/

You'd be surprised how many people don't know how to keep their front loaders clean. Same goes with dishwashers, people never clean their dishwashers either.
