Also available as daily deal on Home Depot website. I purchased with my navy exchange account and got for $134 no taxes. Just a heads up incase you can apply a military discount and get it cheaper from HD

Depends on what you're using them for. If light DYI stuff this is probably overkill. Can likely find the 4ah power pack batteries cheaper and the Maxx are even cheaper than that and be fine. Also these are mostly for sustained burst with consistent power each time until battery dies, if you're looking to use it something like a vacuum or blower you're better off with the power pack.

These are extra power at smaller size. But they are great batteries pushes the tools to max limit if needed.

I think it is. The 1.7 amp-hour ones are usually on sale for around this price.

I really really like the 1.7ah powerstack for use with my impact driver. I only just recently got into Dewalt when they had a 1 day sale on their hydraulic impact for $99. I bought a 1.5ah/3.7ah battery and charger kit. I don't think I've ever actually used the bigger battery. Unlike most brands, with powerstack batteries there's not a noticeable drop off in power when you step down to the 2ah batteries. Just capacity, so unless you're driving a few hundred screws with an impact driver the smaller one works perfectly fine. If I buy any more Dewalt batteries they'll all be 1.7ah.

These are the perfect size/weight.

I have both Milwaukee and DeWalt and these are just a bit smaller than the M18 high output 3.0s and way more comfortable/compact than the DeWalt 5.0 powerstack

Go for the 4AH PowerPack. Same power output, but more durable cylinder battery (as opposed to the pouches on these). Also cheaper on Amazon right now (upper 60's). The PowerPack is also the newer version. The PowerStack is slightly smaller though.

Prolly overkill for their pole pruner, right?

Powerstack ones have never been that cheap.

SD search still reflects an XR Powerstack 5ah with Charger for $49, at Lowe's, Oct 2025. I snatched two...Wasn't greedy but should've been.

Slightly smaller is an understatement. These 3.5 powerstacks are significantly smaller in footprint.
