There are use for these types of food. I used to add honey to my rice, eggs and avocados after a long run to replenish my carbs. But anyone can also adapt to use ketones and sugar made from liver from gluconeogenesis. I don't support sugar anymore for any athletes for any reasons but I also don't deny the explosive energy that it can provide compared to liver made sugar. It just comes down to whether you have the energy expenditure to burn it off or make use of. I'm sure it tastes great.
