Please forgive my ignorance, but are genuine Apple Watch Sports Bands that much better than the cheap, generic ones from like AliExpress/eBay/etc?
Since it's not even branded (i.e., no one will see "Apple" on the band), it's not even like you're paying more to "show off."

yea they are it's fkm vs silicon. finally an actual fkm band for 15 is rare

Would the small regular strap, fit a 45mm case? I have tiny wrists, the strap that came w my 45mm watch is loose on me.

I've bought non-Apple fabric/nylon bands and they tend to be okay, though some of them have frayed. Most of the silicone-style ones I've bought have eventually gotten a weird sheen/coating on them, sometimes even slimy or wet, that almost feels like they're disintegrating or breaking down. I've since started only buying the Apple ones for that style.

that's exactly what it is. i bought a pixel watch 2 refurb that came with a band. i didn't know about any of this til i got the apple watch. the fkm band is extremely smooth compared to the pixel 2 band, which i bet is a silicon aftermarket band.

did you buy third party refurb? i believe that is a m/l size band even if seller say its s/m.
