Pretty much comes down to if you want a clamshell handheld. I think the other still comes out to less though and not having hinges is one less part that can break, but the clamshell also protects the screen/controls when not in use/traveling.
Also be aware of issues with the hinge cracking on this model. Some show up quickly, some months later. May or may not happen to you.
