If you do dry wall sanding once in a blue moon, is an orbital sander sufficient for the job? Since I have an orbital sander and I don't think I do enough sanding for the need of the belt sander.

You do not need a power sander for occasional drywall sanding, unless you are finishing hundreds of boards, a hand sander is no trouble at all.
