It's widely considered exceptional mid-fi for the price. A little light on bass for non audiophiles and can be described as very very neutral. I like them out of the box plugged into my computer AND I liked it more after personalizing EQ settings. Additional tip: buy a separate DAC/amp combo for a cleaner sound like Fiio K5 or K11

If you want a warmer sound, check out out the Fiio FT1 Pro.

Last note: These are open back meaning you can hear noise from your surroundings. I like this because I can hear my cat meowing at my feet and it feels less stuffy.

It's a great headphone. I had it a long time ago but sold it. I got it again with this exact deal a few days ago when it first went live. It showed up yesterday and is still as good as I remember. It's a bright neutral sound. It's a touch brighter and leaner than the HD600 but with much better bass extension. It also requires something that can put out at least 1 watt if you want eq headroom for the bass. Even without eq, a lot of the dongle dacs with only 200-300mw output will start to distort with heavy bass. It's one of the best budget options if you have the power to push it.

What a bargain! These were $300 not that long ago. You will need a dac and amp to get the most of these.

ASR measured them. They're certainly a deal at this price, but you will likely need a headphone amp, as they are power hungry, and definitely, definitely will need EQ. Otherwise, way too little bass. Thus, despite what others say, not neutral at all. They'd sound bright because there's no bass, but they're capable of bass with EQ.Also, the distortion is better than most but not excellent. Good at normal listening levels. OK loud. Bad at ear bleeding.
I agree that these are bright sounding, but I have no issues with distortion at any level with a powerful amp. Your distortion issue might be amp related.

these are amazing bang for the buck! note that you WILL need a headphone amp to properly drive these.

i like the "schitt stack" (Magni/Modi)
Love that stack!

Anyone have these and can give a review?
There's probably nothing comparable in this price range. I replaced a pair of modded fostex t50rp mk3 with these. You will need a powerful headphone amp with these, and a good PEQ to get any bass out of them.

Anyone have the best deal for a DAC to power these?

E: decided to go with XS refurb deal I saw posted in Jan. here on SD instead of this Sundara deal.

Going to pick up the FiiO K7BT and 4.4mm to Dual 3.5mm youkamoo balanced cable.

Pretty stoked since I looked at headphones during covid lockdown and I think these headphones were selling for more than I am paying for my whole setup.

Measurements don't lie. Check the ASR review. Good (though not the best) at 94db. Real issues at 104db. I actually haven't listened to these. The distortion around 6khz could be audible to me even at 94db. I don't rightly now. Distortion isn't captured well in percentages, because distortions can happen so many ways, from obvious resonances to different harmonics that sometimes are audible and sometimes aren't.

Superb headphones. They err on the bright side, but are easy to EQ if you need more umph in the bass. I paid $350 years ago and didn't regret it one bit. $100 is an absolute steal.

Only heads up I'd give is that the headband isn't great for larger heads. It will eventually wear out -- in my case, the plastic snapped.
