Click the link...but yes it has a steam tray for steaming meats and vegetables. Not sure you could fill the base with just water/broth and boil food. It likely would, but unsure how the sensor works to detect when it stops cooking.

I have this and really enjoy it. Maybe not this brand, but all of them are the same with a different name plate, all made from the same Chinese factory. Anyway, put in 2 cups of rice and fill water to the line, press the button and check back in 20 minutes for perfect rice.

Mine was on sale at Kohl's for like $19.99. I had an Amazon return and they give you an extra 20% off coupon for use that same day. I walked the store and pick it up on a total impulse purchase. So glad I did. It has made cooking rice a breeze.

So using it for almost a year has made me wonder what the fancy $150+ "smart" rice cookers can do. I honestly don't know how rice can be any better than with this. Would like to hear if anybody has experience with an expensive rice cooker!
