Just a heads up I got this exact mini PC yesterday (from the previous deal at about $230) and it came preloaded with a virus. Expiro.DA!MTB, it was all over the OS - this was brand new out of the box hadn't downloaded a single file. Wiped it and reinstalled windows, it's fine now (nothing firmware level) but just be aware if you do purchase - wipe it immediately.
what did you use to detect the virus?

Just received mine from the earlier $255 deal... absolutely DO NOT use this right out of the box. The OS has been very heavily altered, windows security not working, windows update not working, "contact your IT administrator" errors, so many other little odd behaviors that are very unusual. No anti-virus or malware tools would even fully install. Figured I'd at least try and see how bad it was...but I gave up.
If you plan to use as an ordinary PC with Windows, absolutely WIPE the drive and do a FRESH install of windows using a cheap $5-10 key you buy online. Do not just reset windows.

Couldn't you use the key that's already on the existing copy of Windows? Or were you either unable to get to it in the system or could that key be problematic as well?

Has anyone who ordered it last week received any updates on shipping? Mine shows some tracking on USPS.com, but no movement since the 20th and technically has yet made it into USPS' possession. Says it's with a shipping partner (Amazon!).

Ordered one last week and received quickly. Just to add to what everyone is saying: Windows said it had a virus before even connecting it to the network. Did a fresh install of Windows. Working well now. Make sure you install the AMD Adrenalin software so you get the latest chipset and graphics drivers. The drivers Windows installed by default were not good.

Received this yesterday right before I left work. I left it in the middle of Windows setup and tried to continue the next morning. It froze during setup so I just reinstalled W11P from a USB drive. It activated the key just fine without supplying my own. Everything seemed fine after install until I tried copying 50GB worth of stuff over to the machine. It immediately hanged after 2GB copied. I rebooted and then it said the OS was corrupted. The SSD could be bad or it could also be bad RAM. I will investigate tomorrow.
I am probably going to replace the SSD with my own. If it needs any more replacement parts, I will probably initiate a return.

I took it apart and put a new SSD in thinking maybe the drive was bad. The new SSD is exhibiting the same issue. I am copying less than 1GB of files and it freezes, ejects the drive and errors out or it stalls. I also noticed that some of the USB ports weren't working when I was plugging in a mouse in a few of the ports.

I am initiating a return process. Too bad. I really wanted to like this device.

Looks like price has gone up quite significantly. Anybody find any other alternatives?

yeah, windows defender immediately gave a whole bunch of virus hits. i regret connecting it to my network, albeit briefly. i guess the windows activation key must be embedded in the BIOS since i installed W11 2H25 from USB and it activated right away... unless that's just how it works now? the original install was W10 so i'm a little surprised. anyway all seems well now that i erased the disk and started over.
