Now imagine it's christmas eve and you have a table full of guests, serving desert and coffee and the machine decides it wants to be cleaned NOW! no exceptions. Sorry everyone, we have to delay things by 20 minutes while I tend to my needy espresso machine. Or maybe you are making your morning drink so you can go to work and it decides it's cleaning time... sorry, be late, or no coffee for you!
Maybe I have bad firmware, but this is absolutley infuriating. Maybe you'll get good firmware, maybe not.
Worth noting: My machine is at least 4 years old.
2. Amazon also erroneously charged me $6.99 shipping, although I carefully unticked the normal shipping charge and instead selected "free shipping" at checkout.
3. Amazon failed to acknowledge the $20 Amazon credit incentive that was offered on the item page (not optional, supposedly is automatically activated) when I completed checkout.
They got all 3 things wrong! ...All errors in their favor, of course. It changed (ruined) the whole deal for me. Luckily I was able to call and rightfully negotiate the $6.99 shipping and the $20 purchase incentive back as a credit on my Amazon account. Saved me from just doing a return. I told them just "forget about" the payment plan they also had botched.
C'mon Amazon! That's $27 of superfluous charges I just-so-happened to catch! To your credit, you fixed it when I complained.
