I believe so. I have been trying to get into this one, and this is getting closer to my strike price threshold.

They will have sales promos and player count will surge.
BF1 and V had players years after their prices plummeted and even had some massive jumps when discounts were offered. Unless this iteration has some critical flaw then I can't image player count will just dissipate as time moves forward
