tough choice.. ips screen on the xps 14 probably gonna end up with the best battery life.. I like the keyboard better on the omnibook ultra i think though..

I have the HP Omnibook X with the 358H. The laptop is fast and the GPU is impressive, but sadly the efficiency claims are not realistic as I have windows set to it's highest level of energy conservation and I'm lucky to get 8.5 hours with the same battery this thing has.

? thats weird.. I have that same model and get 13-15hours of light use ? did you turn eco mode on ? and turn your display refresh rate down to 60hz (down from 120) ? that should turn hdr off .. make sure hdr is off and test again at a modest brightness. I'm getting a lot more.

Pretty solid price for the specs. Even ~$2300 for the 64GB, 2TB and X9 388H is a reasonable price given the current memory crisis and this being a brand new platform.

Can't find a single in depth review on this since it is such a new product but NotebookCheckReviews initial impressions were pretty positive.

agree, I'm totally debating if I should pull the trigger on this or wait for the one with X2 Elite version. That is the version I'm more interested in but unsure how much price will be when it releases

If you get it up to 1999 it can stack with the amex $300 off 1999 offer 🤔

I'm trying to get it over 2k to hit the amex offer. What's better, upgrading 32gb ram to 64gb or the 512gb HD to 2tb? Realistically, I don't need the extra HD space or ram though. Oh, and if you add an accessory at checkout, you get 5% off your total order. Only negative I see here is that it won't ship for 3 weeks.

I was going to wait longer and compare all the new models from Lenovo, ASUS and others too but looking like more price hikes are coming soon from PC OEMs as their memory inventory dries up and even CPU prices are getting bumped up.

I'm leaning towards pulling the trigger on this since I'm not sure how long it will take for all the other models to show up and how much higher the prices will get. Don't think you can go too wrong between the X7/X9 Panther Lake chips or the X2 Elite though. Probably comes down to if you value x86 compatibility and the stronger B390 Intel GPU or if you want the faster X2 Elite CPU. I'm sure both will more than get the job done.

If you had to only pick one or the other, I'd get the increased memory over the SSD. You can always upgrade the SSD if you needed, but you can't upgrade the ram on this.

Good call. I really don't need either, but it's mostly free because hitting 2k triggers the 300 back Amex offer.

Hopefully temporary, but I can't get the coupon to apply any more..

Promotion "Coupon_PCMADNESS25-728523935" is temporarily not available at this time.

I agree, I was going to wait as well but it's taking longer for X2 Elite models to show up and the price increases are happening on some models already
