What's the difference between this one and the ultimate trilogy?

Got this or a similar package last time it was on sale. The remastering is really good and while it's an old classic, looks and sounds great on a big screen.

I have seen the entire trilogy at least 30 times....

I own over 50 3d blu-ray and even I think what you said makes any sense. Why would they spend thousands of dollars remastering a film in 3d for a format that died a long time ago.

That fact that 4 other people thinks the same thing is crazy.

$10 for the 4K trilogy?!? Seems unlikely but okay.
I picked up the Back to the Future 4K trilogy for $10 thanks to a great Slickdeals post a few years back. Occasionally, great deals do pop up here on the forum. That said, I don't think the 4K set is worth paying a premium for if you already have the blu-ray as I didn't notice much of a quality improvement.

No. The quality is the same on all three trilogy releases. The first one they did though came in one of those lame digipacks where the discs are in tight cardboard slots, they are hard to get out/put back, and each time you do there are fine scratches. The 35th and 40th anniversary collections come with individual cases inside of the big packaging. But yeah, they are all the same exact transfer.
I have the cardboard crap. I figured I'll get the upgrade once the scratches are really bad. Probs the 50th anniversary
