And here I wondered why haven't I seen these before? Thanks for setting my head straight. I was thinking in terms of ikea furniture light work like that. Would you recommend it for that? I hate the key that comes with the IKEA crap and my hex set is like an all purpose knife. I'd really like to just grab some allan wrench tips like they have for a screw gun but haven't come across them.

They are quite helpful to have instead of fiddling with hex keys, just don't be stupid with them and they are fine. Don't hit something hard with an impact, don't hammer it down with max torque on a drill. They can save a lot of time if you don't over tighten anything.

I had a cheap pergola that needed to be disassembled in the fall and found a hex-head bit. It made the job probably at least 3 times as fast and I was glad I had. There were probably 50 hex screws in this stupid thing. So I'd say these have some particular functionality.

A good set of "efficiency" tools that save time rather than using the dumb L wrenches .

I've had a similar experience putting together kits. Turn your drill to a low torque setting and you can absolutely just assembly line stuff that would take hours.

I wouldn't put these under impact but w a driver they are golden, just set the clutch on a high setting. I just put some Adirondack chairs together and if had used the hex keys that came with it I'd have CTS. I had to fish out my hex socket set to do it. I just wish this set had a box.

This is a decent set. I freed up space in my tool box by getting rid of about 4 lbs of the "L" shaped key wrenches that come free with just about everything you buy and switching to a nice organized set like this one. Much easier and effective than the "L" shaped wrenches from the 20th century. I use them with hand tools most of the time to prevent stripping and over torquing.

Yep, L's do take up space, and in a greatly wonderful cluttery way in a toolbox.

Yep, one of the primary things drivers have the advantage. Set the torque low and find the sweet spot for the material and these are so much faster than the Ls.

I use hex bits in the "low power battery screwdrivers" and you want a clutch on it if you can get it. Makes putting flat pack furniture together stupid easy.
Use an impact driver and ugga that thing in there and watch the thing you're attaching just bend under the overtightening.
