Before someone mentions Amazon now blocks popular piracy apks on firestick. I know we get it.. Go buy an Onn device etc... *Some people like life myself might have blocked future updates with launcher manager before amazon locked down fire devices so I can have complete control of my device. And yes its still possible if you buy a new device like a fire cube and block updates before setting up the device. But yeah I don't usually contribute and I enjoy the pro remote so I just wanted to share. thxs..

Trying to understand -- How do we block updates before setting up ? Wouldn't the device ask for setting up before we can see other options to lock the devices?

To block updates before setting up a Firestick, you must prevent it from connecting to the internet during initial boot-up, or use a router to block Amazon update domains. Without internet, you cannot pass the activation screen, making router-level DNS blocking of *softwareupdates.amazon.com the most effective method to prevent forced updates.There is youtube video on how to do it if you need help.
