My kids have the version that does up to 16 mph (350w I believe). As an adult, it's moving...can't imaging 22mph. That said, they charge them very little and they're always on them. The Aovo app has the ability to speed restrict them. The braking system (just rear disc) was a bit taxed with me on it (240#) at speed. But they've been a good investment and seem to be good quality units going on two years now.

Aovopro's site says this only does 15.5 MPH for max speed.

Got this/these last year for my two kids, they won't charge this year and we stored them inside this past winter.

I got a scooter from this brand about half a year ago, the AOVOPRO ESMAX. I'm happy with the device (though slightly worried it will burst into flames, all good so far though).

The AOVOPRO app for Android quit working months ago though, it won't launch. You need the mobile app to activate the lock and set the max speed (up to 16mph btw for cruise control, the scooter can go faster down a hill though)

Good catch. This is more in line with expectations and comparable models.

I noticed the Walmart listing shows 21 MPH. I wouldn't trust anything other than the "manufacturer."

Saw a college aged kid recently riding one of these electric scooters easily at 25mph downhill with no protection at all. I am sure he thinks he's skilled and I admit it looks fun, but I kept imagining the dude crashing and burning and not in a "I wish he would" way but more in a "concerned" way. I'm old.

I like everything about this scooter except the tires. They are squared off like car tires, cannot lean on them at all. They are fine if you go straight, but be extremely careful turning. The scooter would need to be upright at all time. After 10-15mph, the turning is more like an airplane, requiring counter-steering and lean angle. So go slow, slower than 10mph, when you turn with these tires.

Keeping an eye on this, as we live in a hilly area, so this would be nice for my tween kids to get back and forth from their friends' houses. If I can speed restrict it, if necessary, it would be good. The 350W version currently a popular deal seems good too. But the bigger battery is worth the extra money imo.

Looks an awful lot like the Xiaomi unit I got several years ago. You can buy the cheap one and put the nicer control module in it and have the nice one for $20 and 20 minutes over the cheap one. Only recommendation I'd make is ditching the inner tube tires for the solid airless ones. The factory ones debead and puncture constantly and they're a pain to put on

I own a couple of Xiaomi M365's which are basically identical that I've been riding to/from work 6mi/day for many years. One was for my wife, but she's a diva and insists on driving. So, the spare is now used when I get a flat and don't immediately feel like muscling a new tube on.

I've heard the quality of Xiaomi's is supposed to be better than these knockoffs, but I'm not sure if that's true or not. In the many years and ~1500mi I've put on each, I've had to replace the accelerators several times as well as the handlebar pivot bolt on one and each of the rear fenders once or twice. The taillights on both since the light wire runs under the rear fender and gets chewed up by road debris over time. I've noticed no noticeable range degradation, but it's not like it's got a dash like an EV that tells you how much you've lost. Replacement parts are inexpensive, but if you were considering a used scooter that needs a little work vs this, this price is a no-brainer.

I notice these come with solid tires, so I wonder how the ride quality is. That's been the biggest deterrent for me to switch to solids even though I dread fixing flats on these things.
Edit: it looks like these come with front shocks which probably greatly improve the solid tire vibration.

Rich,
Thanks for sharing this. Can I ask what speed your's rates at? The listing for this one (in multiple stores) says 22mph, but their direct website clearly states 25km (15mph). I live in a pretty safe suburb of Chicago with great roads, so I have less concern about the tires at this point along my envisioned commuting routes (from home to the grocery store etc). But 15mph to 22mph is a big jump in my opinion and worth causing me to reconsider unless someone with real-world travel experience on these in my type of scenario can advise otherwise.

It looks like max speed is 20-22 depending on weight etc.

Also looks like some settings in a hidden menu to make it go faster.

It's kinda hard to confirm max speed unless you have someone drive near you and track your speed. I would say more than 15 and less than 25 as the max speed without real confirmation. Also, body weight and flat terrain vs. uphill/downhill makes a difference.

Was looking at an electric unicycle which was already on sale and had a PayPal $30 off. It was applied at checkout and I tried to add USAS60 for another $60 off, but it wouldn't take. Then the PayPal $30 disappeared and clearing the cart or restarting the app didn't bring it back.

Weird. Would have pulled the trigger otherwise.
